CULTURE SHOCK

Well, Culture shock are the changes that you have when you are traveling to a foreign country or a different place , for example food,  time schedule, friends, behaviors...In my opinion all of us have  lived a culture shock in our lives because I think all of us have traveled, and have lived in another place that was not your home, so you had to lived some changes. Anyways I think I am an open minded person so if I go abroad I would search something to do not feel lonely or sad, but if you are traveling abroad , you should be open minded and try to meet new people, if you do that your new life would be easier, also try to follow instructions (be friendly and nice to all people that you see )

As you know ( for third time ) I have a German at home, and as Ricardo´s sister, he has had a difficult adaptation ( food, culture , different vocabulary, but he does not have a problem with the language just with some weird words that ticos say )

My Name!!!

Well, my name has a big meaning, mom called me Juan Miguel because it was her  grandfather´s name,I love my name for the same reason,because it is a big  privilege and it makes me feel great,also it makes my family happy because I am the only one that has that name.

MY CULTURE!!!

What is culture?
Culture is the way we live,all the things that we are accustomed to do,all the experiences we have lived and all the values and behaviors our parents have taught us!


My own Culture,Behaviors and Customs:


1)RELATION-SHIPS:
When a friend of mine has a problem with something, no matter what, I always try to advise them giving them my point of view of their situations.That´s why I think I am a good friend and that is one of the most important rules in my culture.


2) RESPONSIBILITY:
 My parents have taught me that if you want to be a successful person you have to be responsable, that is the reason why I use to do all my homeworks as soon as possible                 ( sometimes I am feeling lazy so I do not make anything. )


3)PARTIES!:
My family and I  are very close to each other, so when we have a holiday we love to meet us in a specific place to enjoy and share experiences between us, also we are not a big family so our parties are kind of small or private.
I think that in my culture ,"family" is so much important, because it is the base of all YOU.


4)CHRISTMAS:
I use to help my family building a nativity set,that is around 30 to 32 years old and that is   biggest  custom that my family and I have...
It is  very nice because it is so big, so all the neighbors come to watch it and we share a lot with them, drinking a hot "agua-dulce" with a "bizcocho".

BEHAVIORS,second homework

1)Yesterday I was talking with my new brother,and I told him that all my aunts and cousins was coming  next saturday to meet him.... I think this is a good example of centrality of family, because he is a new part of the family so all my family is interested in him.

2)In my highschool all people can study, and have the right to eat in the dinner room everyday, no matters who or if they are diferent ,  WE  ALL CAN, This is the most important behavior that I could find of egalitarianism


3)Here in Costa Rica we use to call teenagers "mae" but that is only between teenagers,because we called olders "señor, señora" that is an example of respect for age

CULTURE!!!!

   Well, the culture is very important when you need to learn a lenguage! . Why? Because first of all you should need some ideas that the place where you are going to learn, for example the traditions, and some words that you should not to say there ( that is in case you are traveling)
   Here in Costa Rica foreigners sometimes get interested in our culture for many things, like we dont have an army, but we have our houses with fences to protect them, we are very lazy,but good people, (specialy in places near the beach), our food is base on rise and beans...
   I dont like our laws, they are very "weak" to thieves and not always protect all people!!!, and talking about american´s I do not know to much about their culture... ( because every people have a different culture...)
   And finally if I could change something about the culture, here in Costa Rica, as I said before, I might change our laws a little bit.

Correction from HOMEWORK 4 !!!

  I asked my parents for money to go on a vacaation, but they said that I would need a passport so , I went to ask for one.
  My parents wanted me to go on a flight, but when I arrived to the airport , the airline said that they were full, so I decided to take a cruise to Hawaii. It was very nice but the problem was that my luggage was at home, I just had my suitcase with some clothe.
  When I arrived to Hawaii, I thought that if I bought some clothe, it would be a good idea, so I went to a nice store, but suddenly when I was paying, the girl from the store said me that my creditcard was unfunded,so I could not buy anything.
  In general Hawaii has a lot of sightseeings,but when you do not have enough of money and anything to wear it is very complicated  to enjoy your trip.
  I did not have money, so I asked my parents for more cash, but they were in France,so they just could send me some euros to buy the ticket and extra insurance to return home.

I am going to talk about an institution that has been making a lot of problems in our forest and air, I am going to talk about CRUCITAS ( now they are not working they are stoped, but I heard that they are opening a new one)

What is it?
For a long time ago this institution has been  mining our natural resources also polluting our fresh air.Las Crucitas is a Canadian factory that thought that they could make money with costaricans but they could not.
Also they said that this proyect was under control and that nobady will get harm, but they were wrong.

What do I think?
I am just a simple kid but I think that I am open minded also "mature" ( for my age) so as teenager I think that they HAVE  to stop making that because I hope I will be the "future" and I have to take care about it, and as Costarican I can not allow that someone destroy my country, but not only is mine, is YOURS, from animals, also trees.
So this is my point of view about this debate so I disagree.

short story!!!!

FIRST PRESENTATION :)

   Well on my presentatition I would like to talk about the perfect  place for have fun ( teenagers / everyone)
   I selected that topic because, we ( teenagers) dont have any place to visit or have fun,we just  can choose between go to the movies or go downtown to buy an ice-cream, also if we want to hang out with a girl ( boys case) its difficult for us to have a nice place to go.
    So I thought that if I built something cool near Palmares,Grecia,Naranjo,Atenas... everybody would visit it, because I think like a teenager so  I know what young people like to do when they are bored ( the 99.9% of the time ).
    I am not going to write more because i need something to talk about in my presentation.

AN IDEAL PLACE FOR BUSINESS!

   Well, if I want to built a company or something, I would like to built a turistic company,because I think that Costa Rica has a lot of beutiful places that can help us in that.
   One of them, could be our beaches,or our mountains,if we talk about mountains we could find a lot of animals, that foreing people love to see, like deers,birds,special frogs, and not only the animals, also the beauty of the forest.
   Or if we talked about beaches, we would talk about all the sea animals that Costa Rica has.

I think that turistics business will be the best oportunity to have money in our pockets in some years also at the moment.

HOW DO I EAT :) ??? o:

   Well hi!, actualy I think the food that I eat is extremely  delicious because my mom is a good chef haha, and also the food is healthy ( I think so ). Sometimes I have to eat some healthy food and sometimes not.
   Ok my family usualy prepares our food as all the costaricans, its not too spicy but its a little bit, its not greacy, in general its just delicious :)
   Normally I have to prepare my own  food because my mom says that she needs vacations so my father or me sometimes have to cook dinner or something.
    We normaly eat rice it doest matter when ( breakfast as pinto , lunch as casado, dinner as rice with something ( tuna , meat .... )).

What will my life be like 10 or 15 ...

   Well as I said before I am very young to think in my future but, I think that if I want to succsess I should think what is going to be my carrear and that stuff...also my life.
   Ok, I am 15 plus 10 = 25/30 ...maybe i would be working and enjoying my life because I would be very old   ( hahaha, its no fair i love my 15 :/  )...mmm maybe I would be married but that´s a very important desicion that I have to take also hard because i think that when you get married with someone ,she must be sooo especial for you, i don´t think that i would have children because i think i would be working so hard. But in far future i would like  to have them.
  Talking about the world I think it would be worse because we always create more tecnology that help  and also kill us like bombs, new weapons.....

   Well as Ryan knows I met a beautiful girl on a video chat club ( Thanks Felipe for the link )..... and hes always bothering me haha... well when I talk to her is hard for me get all the sentences haha so we use just to chat !!!

    Well , I think that when we have good times,moments all our "FRIENDS"  laugh with you, enjoy with you, but, when you feel isolated, sad, pretty bad, almost your "friends" aren´t there ( with you , advicing  you, trying to make you feel better ) they are with other people making funny things....they don´t care about you!!!
    Its like when someone in your family dies, the 98% of your friends don´t care about your feelings , about your relation ship between you and your relative... just the 2% of your REAL FRIENDS are supporting you, saying that if they can help you with something, that if you need someone to talk with... and that 2% of your friends are almost like your second family , you have to take care about them!!!and they are hard to find!!!

MY LIFE!!

Well actualy, I am very tired because today I finished all exams, and I dont know what to write, so I guess I am going to write about all the topics :))))
 1- I am a student ( sorry felipe you gave an idea haha) , and I think that school is AWESOME, well without exams and stupid teachers but the 99.9% of the people there...    ( teachers, friends, ""friends"" and janitors) are PURA VIDA!!!...

 2- and I think that I am /am not  a good conversationalist ( i mean I am a normal conversationalist) because sometimes I look serious but I am not... , but it depend  of the person because if I am talking with a shy guy , i dont know what to say, or if I am with a group of friends ( friendly and funny guys ) I spend all the time saying stupid things and laughing... hahaha :D

GOOD OR BAD companies!

    Well at the begining, I didnt  know what to write about, so I went to the kitchen, and I  ate a yogurt and started  to think about my comment in the blog..... then, I saw the yogurt and it made me think so I am going to write about DOS PINOS.
    Dos Pinos is one of the biggest companies and factories here in Costa Rica, they produce  dairy products, juices hahaha!!! and so many smiles :)))) also, they have big farms in a lot of places like Zarcero,Coronado,San Carlos ( its a big opportunity for farmers, because Dos Pinos buys them milk for a reasonable price )
    For me, they produce the most delicious ice-creams, and juices.... not only for their prices,also for their taste and quality it could be because they are the oldest cooperative in Costa Rica and they have too experience making that .
    Well, I have never gone to their factory, but my uncle says that its huge , that they have a lot of machines, and its very organized...
     They also export their products to others countries, I mean, latin countries like :
Nicaragua
Panama
Guatemala
Salvador .....

 

Dream and Nightmare jobs!!!!

     Well, I am very young to think in jobs, and that stuff, but I have thought that the perfect job is when you feel good doing it , for example if you have a family, or something, you should think or serch  any job that can help you in that situation.
     But there are a lot of exceptions like a garbage recolector because they spend all day long working, and they have to wake up so early =/, also a judge because sometimes you dont know if the person is inocent or guilty
     A good job for me could be a doctor because you can help so many people, but at the same time I dont like it, sometimes you cant help him or her and they die!!!! : (

Well, I am here because I will like to work on my english, like fluency and grammar too . I will hope to learn a lot of vocabulary because I need it.. actualy I like english because I am better at grammar in english than spanish , also its a big oportuny , its nice , and easy too... If u speak it fluently you should find  a lot of open doors in your life.
